What documents do I need to file my taxes?
You’ll typically need a valid photo ID, Social Security cards for everyone included on the return, and all applicable income documents such as W-2s or 1099s. Depending on your situation, additional documents may be needed for dependents, education, health insurance, or self-employment income and expenses.
Can I file with you if I live outside of Texas?
Yes. Tax preparation services are virtual, so you can file from anywhere in the United States. Submit your documents securely online, and KB Consultant Services will guide you through the process.
What happens after I submit my information?
Your information and documents are reviewed for completeness and accuracy. If anything additional is needed, KB Consultant Services will contact you before preparing your return. You will have an opportunity to review the return before it is submitted to the IRS.
How long does it take to receive my tax refund?
Most e-filed federal tax returns are issued within 21 days when direct deposit is selected. Processing times can vary based on the return, IRS review, tax credits claimed, or other factors. Refund dates are determined by the IRS and are not guaranteed by KB Consultant Services.
Can I file if I’m missing a tax document?
It depends on which document is missing. KB Consultant Services will help you determine what is needed and discuss your options before your return is filed. You may need a replacement document or additional information before proceeding.
Do I have to pay my tax preparation fee upfront?
Eligible clients may have the option to deduct tax preparation fees from their refund instead of paying upfront. Additional bank fees may apply.
